Planner Review : Day Designer Midyear 2019-2020

Day Designer Planner Review

Happy Fri-yay!

Don’t you just love days when you are checking things off your to do list! Every check mark gives me a little joy on the inside. That is why I am totally a planner girl!

Even from my elementary school days, I have always loved planners. I was the girl in third grade that would always write down her assignments and test dates in an agenda I would get each year from Walmart. Is that nerdy? 😉

Anyways, I have used a planner my whole adult life. I needed it in college to survive and in marriage to keep my husband and I functioning. I write down doctors visits, to-do lists, and meal plans in my planner.

Since I have been married, I have always used the Day Designer brand. I first fell in love with it 4 years ago at Target and I have not strayed since.

I have purchased from Target twice and ordered online a couple times for my planners.Day Designer Review

So let me explain quickly why I love this planner ~

The Calendar –

Day Designer Review

t’s perfect! There is enough room each day for me to write out multiple appointments or events. Plus there is a note section where I write all my bills for the month.

Weekly Daily Agenda –

Day Designer Review

I love how there is a top 3 to try to accomplish at the beginning of each day. Since I have a 4 month old baby, usually 3 things is about all I can accomplish.

There is room for an hourly agenda if you need to remember certain times during the day. I use this for any appointments or work events.

There is a to-do list section. I use this for any minor tasks that need to be accomplished. Usually these events roll over to the next day.

There is a tonight section which I use to meal plan.

Lastly, there is a gratitude section for you to count your blessings each day!

The Weekend –

Day Designer Review

Now this is a bit different than all the other planners I have used. Saturday and Sunday are on a page together. At the top of the page, there is a section for – “Take a Time Out: Fun Things to Do!” I thought this was great to add. Often times on the weekend, I just write things that still need to get done. But this allows you to pause for a moment and remember to ENJOY your weekend. 🙂 .

Next, there is an hourly agenda for Saturday and Sunday.

Last, there is a “Next Week” section and a “Don’t Forget” section.

I absolutely love this planner. The size is perfect for packing around and pink and gold have been my colors lately.

If Target still has this planner I will try to link it here!  I did not see it online, but here is something similar . (CLICK HERE) .

It seems to have the same interior but a different design on the outside.

Postpartum Fashion Haul! Boutiques & Walmart!

Happy Whatever Day It Is! One thing I have been learning from motherhood is whether it is waking up on time or making it to church on time – neither of them happen on time. 😉

I had originally planned for the post to go up two weeks ago, and then this past Friday. But it didn’t happen… and that’s okay. The world didn’t end. 😉 I have to remind myself of that daily.

So I wanted to share with y’all some of the clothing items I had gotten during my postpartum shopping spree.

Which I highly recommend!

If you are reading this and you are pregnant… start sitting back twenty dollars a paycheck. Then have a bit of a splurge whenever you feel like it after you have your baby.

It actually was pretty fun for me. I even did it all while sitting on the couch. Thank the Lord for the internet. 😉

It was fun shopping again and getting new clothes made me feel better and more like my old self.

So here are some of my fashion finds!

1- Kimono – I originally fell in love with this outfit on the boutiques Instagram page. So I decided to recreate it myself. I purchased this kimono from a boutique. you can follow on Facebook – Sweet M’s. The olive green shirt I got from Old Navy. I think this outfit is perfect for the end of summer and going into fall. It also is perfect for the postpartum tummy worries and can provide some cover while breastfeeding! This kimono is in the $40-50 dollar range.

2- Check out the online Magnolia Boutique based out of Indiana. This boutique always has tons of cute options at decent prices. I picked out this striped summer dress. I have been loving dresses that hit just below the knees. This dress is very comfortable. I loved the design. It was a new print that i had never tried before.  new life- New print – New Dress – New Momma. 😉 This dress is $44.  CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT!

3- This dress is also from the Magnolia Boutique. I have to say as a fair skin girl this dress kind of scared me, but I loved the design and shape of the dress. So I thought – go for it! Some reds just make my pale skin just look more pale. I think this dress though compliments my skin tone. It is perfect right now for wearing some cute brown sandals with. I also look forward to adding a denim jacket and booties for fall!  (This dress is no longer available – CHECK THE WEBSITE FOR POSSIBLE RESTOCK OPTIONS)

4- Dresses are perfect for postpartum momma’s during summer. I had a C-Section, so I did not like things coming around my belly. My mom actually got me this dress from Walmart by the brand Time and Tru. It is so comfy and has pockets! I am not sure if they still currently have this dress, but you might find it on some clearance racks! I even wore this dress during my last trimester of pregnancy!

5- I found this staple piece at Old Navy on sale. I this this is a perfect basic dress to always have in your closet. It looks adorable with a scarf during summer. I found a chic way to dress this dress up on Pinterest. (GO FOLLOW MY PINTEREST BOARDS TO FIND MORE OF MY FASHION FAVS!). I paired this dress with a flannel and some booties and I love the look it gives for fall!

I hope my fashion finds were inspirational to adding something new to your closet or inspiring you to wear something you already have.

If you have any questions leave them below! Or any other ideas of how to wear these 5 pieces I found.

My Labor Story – Induced – C-Section

Hey guys!  I have been on like a maternity leave enjoying all my snuggles with my new baby.  (Follow me on instagram “gracefullyfashionable” if you want to see the cutest baby in the world 😉 I am a little bias though 😉 )

my labor story - induced - c - section

I am 7 weeks postpartum now.  I recently made a Youtube video sharing my labor and delivery story.  Nothing went even remotely close to how I thought it would go.

Induced – heart rate drop – 27 hours in labor – C- Section – Hole in heart

Sadly I feel like my story was everything but joyful.  I felt disappointed in my experience and how I felt about my journey so far into mommyhood.

I just had one of the greatest gifts from God, yet there were more tears than smiles.

I wanted to share my story for anyone else who might have gone through something similar.  I am learning more and more how important it is for us momma’s to lean on each other.

No one else can relate except another momma who went through the same thing or something similar.

So I hope my story can help you feel comfort knowing you are not alone.

BUT NOW

I am one of the happiest momma’s in the world.  I am falling more and more in love with my son each day.

Yes, I am exhausted and sometimes wonder what in the world have I gotten myself into.

But then I snuggle with him or watch him smile up at my face.  I get those warm fuzzy momma feelings…

Proverbs 31- A Virtuous Name – Smile – God Saw!!

Proverbs 31- A Virtuous Name - Smile - God Saw!!

Once again, I am trying to be happily unaccomplished.  If you haven’t read my latest post about the Proverbs 31 woman, check it out here!

I had planned for this post to go up much much much sooner, but as we discussed… I am happily unaccomplished.

So now I am so excited to share with you more from my Bible study about the Proverbs 31 woman!

I hope and pray that your heart gets the same blessing that mine did.  Just from pondering a few verses about the Proverbs 31 Woman.

Proverbs 31- A Virtuous Name - Smile - God Saw!!

Proverbs 31: 23 – “Her husband is known in the gates; when he sits among the elders of the land.”

Do you leave a good name for your husband?  Does your husband leave a good name for you?

Isn’t it amazing how my character is not only a reflection of me, but of my husband as well.

Proverbs 31- A Virtuous Name - Smile - God Saw!!

Proverbs 22:1 says, “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches.”

When my husband and I became married, we became one.  Not only am I a character reflection of my husband but I am a character reflection of Christ.

Take a moment and take some time to think, to reflect on your character…

How am I seen through my husbands eyes?  What do his friends think of me?  What does my community think of me?  Am I a reflection of Christ?

Proverbs 31- A Virtuous Name - Smile - God Saw!!

Proverbs 31: 24 – “She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies sashes for the merchants.”

So to review what all this woman ALREADY does:

-seeks wool and flax

-brings food from a far

-provides food for the household

-considers a field and buys it

-stretches hands to distaff and holds spindle

-extends hand to poor and needy

-makes tapestry for herself

-AND NOW makes linen and sells it.

She is a woman of many talents…. But aren’t we all when we stop and think about it.

Think about even the small things we get done during the week.

-Dresses kids… or husband in my case  😉

-Grocery shopping

-Cooks multiple meals a day

-Works a full/part time job.  (Being a mom is a full time job just on its own.)

-Cleans the house

-Helps a friend whether through action or just listening

-Does something for herself whether that’s a hobby or just trying to get 5 minutes alone.  😉

Proverbs 31- A Virtuous Name - Smile - God Saw!!

The blessing in all this is the Lord sees all your labor!  Even when no one else does.

So my note to myself this week, is to remember that even my small and most repetitive tasks are important and can be done with a cheerful heart.

And when no one sees my work, or thanks me.   God knows…and He saw.

Leave a good name!

Make some linen,

Or whatever your task at hand might be 😉

Smile… God saw!!!

Happy Friyay!
