1. Polka Dot Old Navy Top

Polka Dot Top from Old Navy - Winter Fashion Favs 2019

I love Old Navy!  I think this shirt is perfect for feeling warm like wearing a sweatshirt but still looking like you actually tried today.  I think the ruffles add a great detail as well!  I think it will be perfect paired with a pair of jeans and boots.  A great comfy BUT cute date idea to wear on a date for Valentines Day with my hubby.

2- Vest from Cato’s

Vest from Cato - Winter Fashion Favs 2019

I guess simple would be another great word for my style.  I do not really care for complicated outfits anymore and I love versatile pieces.  Pair this with a black shirt and jeans and I think you just took a simple look up a notch!  I’ve also worn this with a black T shirt dress!  I think it’s a great accessory to add to simple outfits.

3 – Leopard block top from Filly Flair

Leopard Block Top from Filly Flair - Winter Fashion Favs 2019

This is my go to shirt when I want to dress up a pair of jeans!  It is SO comfy!  It has a small knot already tied in the front.  ( I have no skills in tying a knot for myself.  It just ends up looking weird when I do it.).

4. Cardigan/Kimono from Filly Flair

Kimono/Cardigan from Filly Flair - Winter Fashion Favs 2019

Seriously y’all go check this boutique out!  I think this cardigan is great to add to a simple top and jeans.  I think it will be perfect to keep in my spring collection and add to some simple T shirt dresses.

5- Cardigan from Old Navy

Cardigan from Old Navy - Winter Fashion Favs 2019

I hope my camera does this cardigan justice.  It has more of a pink hue.  It so so soft and warm.  I recently wore this to church with a T shirt dress.  I had to take it off because I was sweating!  Soft and warm!  It is perfect for this frosty January

I hope y’all have enjoyed looking over my Winter Fashion Favs.  If you have any current Favs, leave them in the comments below!  I’m always looking for new comfy, cute clothes!

3 Fall Essentials – Walmart and Target!

3 fall essentials

Does anyone not like the season fall? The cool weather, the thought of the holidays right around the corner. I feel like a special type of magic starts to sit in around fall.

Today, I have 3 affordable fall essentials. FROM WALMART & TARGET! My clothes have to pass the 2 C’s test. COMFY & CUTE. If any outfit is not comfortable… I will not wear it. Trust me… you can ask my husband. I legit touch everything in a clothing store to see how soft it is. 😉

So here are my 3 Fall Essentials!

3 fall essentials

1 – Sporty- Comfy- You- Have- To -Have- Black- Top! I love this top! Seriously, I love it. I think it is perfect for running errands or to chill in for the weekend. It helps me feel like I am trying to look cute and sporty, but really it’s the most comfy top I’ve ever worn! And its from Walmart! Just $15 dollars! AND it comes in multiple colors! I chose black because I thought it looked more chic! 😉

2 – Dressy Ball Cap. I am a ball cap type of girl. Oily hair but need to run errands? Ball cap! Crazy curly frizzy hair you can’t contain? Ball cap! I thought this was perfect to add to my collection. It is way better than just wearing my WKU one. 😉 . This cap helps my outfit look like I actually meant to add the ball cap. 😉 . Guess where? Walmart! Clearance! I searched the internet to try and find this hat and couldn’t. So if you see one at your Walmart… snatch it 😉

3 – Backpack purse. As a purse lover, I am particular about my purses.  I have been searching for a backpack purse for months! When I found this at Target and it was the only one left, I knew it was the one! Backpack purses are perfect for fall. Perfect to stash essentials to go on a hayride or apple pickin’ .  I love all the pockets this purse has!  My only complaint is that it is a little floppy. I have a weird annoyance when I set my purse down and it flops over… or when trying to get my wallet out turns into a fishing game. But I think I can deal for now! Just being able to throw my purse on my back and not worry about it falling off my arm, has been a blessing. 😉 .

Happy Fall Y’all!

My Personal Weekly Clothing Budget – For a girl who loves shopping!

personal shopping budget

Wouldn’t it be awesome to have an unlimited budget for clothes and Starbucks. Ahhhh… if only. 😉

My husband and I are Dave Ramsey followers and we are currently on baby step #3, which is saving 3-6 months expenses for an emergency fund. So that means, we are on a budget of throwing most extra cash at savings.

But even Dave Ramsey says you should still budget some money for fun. Now my husband and I do not have a clothing budget each month. Both of us do not plan on changing sizes any time soon, so all our clothes should work for us.

Now I understand families that have kids, definitely need a clothing budget. You don’t want your kids wearing high water jeans or shoes that don’t fit.

There are also special occasions when you need a clothing budget. Last year, my sister got married and we had to purchase my husband some dress clothes. We just adjusted our monthly budget for that month to afford the new shirt and tie he needed.

While I have explained, that we do not have a monthly clothing budget, we do have a Brittany and Tony budget for every week. Every week, each of us gets $20 dollars to spend on whatever we want. We get it out in cash at the ATM. As a shopping lover, all my money usually goes towards clothes.

Sometimes I spend my $20 right away on a cute Target shirt or a pair of Old Navy shorts. Other times, I save it up. One time, I saved all my $20s for over four months, I saved close to $350 dollars. I then spent it all on a Vera Bradley purse, as a gift to myself.

While it sounds awesome that I saved up and paid with cash for my purse, it wasn’t all fun. I had to constantly tell myself every week to not rush to the mall and get that dress I wanted.  Or I had to tell myself, ” just keep saving, I’ll eventually get there.” It was like I had to give myself a savings pep talk each week.

Check out my review of my $300 Vera Bradley bag I saved up for and paid with cash!

It takes discipline of telling your self no, but the reward is worth it. I currently have saved $80 dollars in my Brittany budget. I either plan on saving a couple hundred then going on a shopping spree, or saving up for a new Iphone, now that will take some dedication. 😉

The best thing about my budget is that I am paying with cash. I have no credit card bills and I don’t feel guilty at all about purchasing it. I know through my budget that all my bills are getting paid, I have a fridge full of food, and I have a little bit of money to have some fun with.

By budgeting $20 dollars a week, that is $80 dollars a month.

That is $160 in 2 months

$240 in 3 months

$480 in 6 months

$960 in a year! Just to spend on me!

I hope this encourages you to start saving a little money for yourself. Whether that is for a clothing budget like I enjoy or whatever hobby you might have. Also, if you can budget more than $20 bucks, go for it!

Working hard and saving for your purchase just makes it that much sweeter!

Hugs,

Brittany!
